Following an internal investigation, RHB Group has revealed the outcome of a disciplinary case involving one of its employees who went viral for sharing a doctored image of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Effective yesterday (31 October), the employee was terminated and is no longer employed by RHB.

The matter was confirmed last night via an official statement from the organisation, which reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and mutual respect.
Faced backlash despite issuing public apology
The employee came under fire after a screenshot of her social media story showed an altered image of PMX “wrapped” in an Israeli flag resembling a saree.
Despite issuing a public apology and clarifying that she merely shared the image and did not create it herself, social media users expressed outrage and urged RHB to take action.
“We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any behaviour that contravenes our Code of Ethics and Conduct,” RHB said in its statement.

In her apology, the employee also addressed PMX directly. As of the time of writing (1 November), the Prime Minister has not responded publicly to the matter. Following her termination, the employee has also not issued any further statements and has deactivated her social media account.
In an earlier statement, RHB Group pledged to conduct a thorough internal investigation and stated that disciplinary action would be taken if the employee was found to have breached the group’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
