The appearance of what resembles a meteor brightening up the night sky has once again caught the attention of residents in Bintulu and Miri, Sarawak, last night (1 October).
According to a report by Harian Metro, the ‘meteor’, which moved at a high speed, is believed to have first been seen in the Samalaju area at around 9 PM, which is known as an industrial area where liquefied natural gas is processed.

Multiple people have since taken to social media to showcase videos of the ‘meteor’, after having claimed to have seen a bright light which was then followed by a loud boom.
Not the first time strange things have happened in the sky in Sarawak
Previously, in August, a rare phenomenon was spotted in the night skies of Bintulu, leading many to believe it was caused by aliens.
However, that theory was quickly shot down as astronomy enthusiast, Dr Zurwina Sharkawi, provided a scientific explanation for the phenomenon, light pillars.
However, until now, there has yet to be an explanation for the appearance of the ‘meteor’ that appeared last night.
