Rempits are a nuisance, especially when riding in big groups. From road bullying to recklessness, many have fallen victim to these menace on two wheels.
Wanting to put a stop on their errant ways, Langkawi police carried out a crackdown on a huge group of rempits making their way from Johor Bharu to Langkawi, which was all caught on video.
Named the “Langkawi Attack, JB Mari” group, this large group of motorcyclists were nabbed by the Kedah Police at the Tanjung Limbong Jetty.
“In a joint operation between PDRM and JPJ, a total of 473 motorcycles are issued summons based on 606 offences.”
“A majority of the summons issued was due to the unavailability of proper vehicle registration and side mirrors.”
Let’s hope that operations like this will continue to be carried out by the authorities to further curb the rempit nuisance once and for all.
