Despite the blaze, the crowds stood in the area and watched as the fire slowly took down the store, which was just next to a restaurant.

Selangor Fire & Rescue Department deployed 3 fire trucks, consisting of 19 firefighters, to the scene at Lorong Batu Nilam 3 after receiving a distress call about the fire at 6:06 PM. The religious goods store was located in a 3-storey building, and the fire mainly spread to the first and second floors.

The store was 22 feet wide and 70 feet long.

According to the fire department’s operations director, the fire has caused an estimated 70% damage to the religious goods store. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported as the firefighters worked hard to make sure the fire did not affect the other shops in the row, reported Sin Chew.

The restaurant next to the store, Xiao Ming Kopitiam, also released a statement today (June 8) and said the eatery is closed today as the place is also affected by the blaze, with the water and electric supply cut off.
