To protect and to serve. This an oath every police officer has to take before starting their job, but not all have what it takes to fulfil the promise.

Not long after the extortion and sexual harassment case involving 2 policemen, a viral video on X showing a police officer abusing a man publicly by repeatedly slapping him circulated on social media. It is unclear when the incident took place, and the policeman, who had no remorse, was heard saying,

“You skip fasting, and now you’re stealing!” he continously (and brutally) slapped the crying man at an undisclosed restaurant.

The man, who was not in his uniform, also grabbed the victim by his head. Little did he know, his information was also spread in Telegram, with his name and post revealed. According to the leak information, he is a sergeant major at the Sri Gading police station in Johor.

With the power of social media, it didn’t take long for the police to get their attention on the viral video. Based on an official statement released by Johor Chief Police, they are investigating the matter. The statement, released last night (January 12), stated that the sergeant major is the chief of the police station in Sri Gading.

“We will take necessary actions without any compromise,” the police assured.

PDRM also urged the public who has any information, to come forward and assist with the investigation.

We truly hope necessary action will be taken against the policeman.
