The police have recently crippled a major drug syndicate in the Klang Valley, seizing illicit substances worth a staggering RM1.53 billion in one of the country’s largest busts to date.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the record-breaking haul followed a string of intelligence-driven raids on 16 December at multiple locations across the Klang Valley.

He said the operation led to the arrest of three local men and three foreign women aged between 24 and 39 at several locations around the Klang Valley.
“The first raid was carried out in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, and successfully detained three local men and three foreign women.
Further checks at a house uncovered six bottles of liquid suspected to contain MDMA weighing about 3kg,” he said at a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK).

He said the second raid in Taman Taynton View, Cheras, led to the seizure of 738kg of white powder suspected to be cocaine and 3,303kg of liquid suspected to be cocaine, along with various drug-processing equipment.
The third raid at a premises in the Sungai Chua Industrial Area, Kajang, Selangor, uncovered 3,024kg of white powder suspected to be ketamine and 10,067kg of liquid suspected to be ketamine, together with drug-processing equipment.
“The fourth raid at a premises in Taman Industri Mega, Bandar Technology, Kajang, successfully seized 28 white sacks containing 1,400 yellow plastic packets filled with white powder suspected to be ketamine weighing about 1,402kg,” he said.
Largest drug lab raided so far
Hussein said the total amount of seized illegal substances was 18,537kg, comprising MDMA (3kg), cocaine (4,041kg), and ketamine (14,493kg), estimated to be worth RM1.53 billion and capable of harming 68.5 million users.
He said investigations revealed the syndicate used a three-storey bungalow as an illegal drug-processing lab and business premises as drug storage facilities.
“The syndicate is believed to have been active since April, focusing on international markets, especially in eastern countries. Initial investigations found that the syndicate had smuggled drugs produced several times to target countries.”
“The drug lab uncovered this time is the largest ever raided by police so far,” he said.
