Taking to social media, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri has extended his condolences to the family of Rayan Oram, a five-year-old boy who died after he was trapped five days in a well located at his village of Ighran, Chefchaouen, Morocco.
In his Facebook post, Ismail Sabri writes, “It saddens me to hear the passing of Rayan Omar, as confirmed by the Royal Palace of Morocco.”
“Rayan was trapped in a well in Northern Morocco for five days before rescuers were able to reach him late on Saturday and retrieve his body.”
“The entire Malaysia Family extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Rayan’s family.”
“May Allah SWT grant him Jannah. Al-fatihah.”
Footage that made its way on social media saw glimpses of what took place on scene, when Rayan’s body was recovered, five days after he was trapped in a 45cm wide and 32m deep well.
Battling the bitter cold and constant risk of landslides, rescuers attempted to keep Rayan alive by lowering food, water and oxygen through a tube.
Rest in peace Rayan.
