Previously, a netizen warned visitors to a shopping mall to be wary of a man known for stalking people in the parking lot in an attempt to solicit RM100.
She stated that the man actively goes around knocking on car windows and approaching individuals, asking for RM100.

“Extra patrols and surveillance were quickly deployed”
1 Utama has spoken up about the incident in a statement, saying their Customer Service team immediately took action to escalate the matter and ensure shoppers’ safety.
They also added that extra patrols and surveillance were deployed around the car park, with security personnel actively on duty to keep an eye out for the suspect.
“As soon as we received the report, our customer service team acted right away to escalate the issue and safeguard our shoppers. Extra patrols and surveillance were quickly sent to the car park, and our security team was on active duty looking out for the man,” they said.

The elderly suspect has been caught
In a new development, 1 Utama announced that last Sunday (September 7), their security team successfully apprehended a 73-year-old suspect at around 7:30 PM.
They added that the suspect has been handed over to the police, while three other culprits were also caught and detained.
“We want to reassure everyone that your safety and comfort remain our top priority to ensure 1 Utama stays a safe destination for all visitors. If anyone encounters any incidents in our mall, please report them directly to our team at 03-7710 8118 so we can take immediate action.”
