We have heard lots of tales about our Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and in a recent interview with Sin Chew Daily, she even said that we can call her popo!
In an interview with Bernama, Tunku Azizah has revealed that she will be funding the IVF process of 60 underprivileged couples with fertility problems through her foundation, TAFF (Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation), in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s 60th birthday.
Tunku Azizah experienced this hardship first-hand when she tried to conceive an heir. Berita Hairan said that she has faced 6 miscarriages and had gone through 17 IVF processes in the span of 10 years when finally, she was able to conceive the prince, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
Her Majesty is very grateful to the people that have helped her through that journey, and she would like to give back to the people what Allah has given her.
The Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation was founded in 2005 after the director of the museum asked Her Majesty where the money from the fund-raising dinner in conjunction with her first cookbook should go. Tunku Azizah said that at that moment, it just clicked. That’s when she said she wanted to set up a fertility foundation of her own.
Recently, Her Majesty has published 2 other cookbooks which retail for around RM380 each. 100% of the sales will go to TAFF.
Up until now, TAFF has helped in the birth of 115 children, with the oldest turning 13 this year!

It is very gracious that Her Majesty is giving help to underprivileged couples with fertility problems. If you know of someone who needs that helping hand, share this to them! Long live the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Permaisuri Agong!
