On the night of 15 August, a Facebook post surfaced in which a customer alleged that their father discovered a rat inside a bun, purchased from one of Harold’s Bread bakeries at AEON Taiping.

Investigation and Findings

The following morning, less than 24 hours after the allegations surfaced, officers from the Perak State Health Department conducted an on-site inspection at the bakery implicated in the matter. The bakery was found to pose no health or safety risks, and its operations were allowed to continue uninterrupted.

“We are pleased to inform you that the investigation into the allegations has been completed. In a letter dated 19 August, Dr. Feisul Idzwan Bin Mustapha, the Perak State Health Director, confirmed that the accusations are BASELESS,” the media statement read.
