Penang Suffering From Level 1 Heatwave Alert, Boiling Water Comes Out From Taps

Recently the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a Level 1 heatwave alert, which has seen scorching heat hit north Malaysia with a bang.

Along with affected areas such as Perlis, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kedah and Perak, Penang is also included in the list.

A video has gone viral which shows how big of an impact this heatwave has had on the livelihoods of Penangites.

In this video, answering the question ‘Just how hot is Penang right now?’, a netizen shared a horrifying video of hot tap water which came out boiling straight into this netizen’s rice pot.

With vapours can be seen clearly on video, we had a look at how severe the weather was today.

Jokes aside, we sincerely hope all of our friends up north, will do the necessary to keep cool in this heatwave.
