A man, believed to be in his 40s, narrowly escaped death after his car was shot at by an unknown assailant in Butterworth, Penang.
According to Sinar Harian, the incident took place around 5:40 PM on July 1 (Tuesday), near a primary school in Sungai Nyior.

He was picking up his child from school
The victim was reportedly waiting to pick up his child from school when the four-wheel drive vehicle he was in was shot at close range by an unknown individual.
According to BERNAMA, a suspect approached the vehicle and opened fire at the driver’s side window. Fortunately, the victim escaped uninjured.
Photos circulating on social media show that at least five gunshots were fired at the driver’s side of the vehicle.

As of now, police have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
However, Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) District Police Chief ACP Anuar Abdul Rahman has confirmed the incident and stated that an official statement will be issued soon.
