An elderly woman passed away in a hospital in Balik Pulau, Penang, yesterday (12 January), heartbroken that she didn’t get to see her son one last time.
According to a report by China Press, the 86-year-old woman’s granddaughter explained that she had passed away without fulfilling her wish of being reunited with her 48-year-old son, Lee Ming Wang (transliteration). The man had allegedly left home 15 years ago following a family conflict.

Recently, the elderly woman had fallen critically ill and hoped to see her long-missed son one last time, but he never appeared.
“My uncle’s friend also contacted me and told me that he had contacted my uncle 2 years ago and only learned that my uncle’s life was unstable and he had no fixed residence,” the granddaughter shared.
A final send-off

The elderly woman’s family now hopes that the man will attend her funeral on Friday (16 January) at 11 AM at the Balik Pulau Funeral Home, to send his mother off on her final journey.
After the funeral, her coffin will be moved to the Balik Pulau Cemetery for her burial.
The family still hopes that the man will see his family searching for him, as they have posted notices on social media and in newspapers, and attend the funeral to bring peace to his mother’s soul.
Our sincerest condolences to the elderly woman’s family and loved ones. We genuinely hope that they find the man in time.
