Four teenagers, including three secondary school students in Kedah, were nabbed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for an alleged gang rape case in school.
Kedah Police, however, clarified that the case involving four teenagers and a female student at a secondary school in the Baling district is not a case of gang rape.

The incident instead involved sexual relations with a minor and was consensual.
Different places, different times
According to Kedah Police Chief, Datuk Adzli Abu Shah, the investigation found that the act was committed in several different locations, including in a classroom and an oil palm plantation, not simultaneously or in groups.
“The incident happened in the evening when there was no learning session and no one else was in the classroom.”
“The victim is believed to have committed the act with four separate suspects, one of whom was the victim’s boyfriend.”
He explained that the suspect’s mobile phone was seized for further investigation, but no sexual video recordings were found. According to him, initial investigations only found video content that showed immoral acts involving the victim.
Although the act was committed with the consent of both parties, Datuk Adzli said the victim was still a minor and was not considered mature enough to understand the consequences of the act.

The case is classified as statutory rape
He also confirmed that one of the suspects, aged 17, was the victim’s boyfriend. Adzli also highlighted the possibility of social media influence in this matter and urged parents or guardians to take necessary precautions.
“This case reflects the lack of maturity among teenagers. Parents need to be more sensitive in monitoring their children’s use of gadgets and social media.”
“The police cannot play that role in the household. Parental monitoring is very important.”
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape and Section 8 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 relating to the dissemination of pornographic material involving children, reported Sinar Harian.
