The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has remanded a babysitter in Ipoh, Perak after a 6-month-old baby girl died at the Intensive Care Pediatric Unit of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Friday (14 July).

As reported by BERNAMA, the baby girl was suspected to have been abused by her babysitter, a local woman, in Taman Tawas Indah in Perak.

According to Ipoh district police chief ACP Yahaya Hassan, the doctors suspected that the baby had been abused after finding bruises on her body. Furthermore, post-mortem results on the deceased showed that the 6-month-old baby’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
