PDRM is currently in search of a religious teacher who is currently in hiding after a police report was lodged against him by the mother of his student.

The teacher had allegedly abused the 13-year-old student on three separate occasions because the student had apparently refused to obey his instructions. Throughout the three incidents in which the teacher had become abusive, the student had sustained many injuries.

On the 13th of July, which was when the first incident occured, he sustained a broken left hand but had told his mother that it was caused by a fall.

In August, he came home with bruises on his face but remained quiet about it.

The final straw came on the 21st of September when he was sent home with bloody lips, though he told his mother that it was because his lips were dry. The boy on the same day opened up to his mother via WhatsApp about being assaulted by the Quran teacher.

“He said he had been beaten up by the suspect. The abuse took place at the suspect’s house at Jalan Simpang Tiga Jeram,” said Md Asri A. Wahab, the Kuala Selangor Police Chief Superintendent as according to New Straits Times.

“The boy is the sole student of the suspect and the classes took place from Monday to Saturday from 8pm to 9:30pm. The boy had said he would get beaten up if he refused to listen to the suspect’s instructions and when nobody else was at the house,” he added.

It turns out that the student stayed quiet for so long because he was scared as the teacher had threatened to beat him up even more if he told anyone.

The case is now being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for abuse.

We truly can’t trust anyone with our children any more.
