Let’s be honest, while the Merdeka Day celebrations and parades all over the country were amazing and unifying, there was one thing that was the absolute highlight.
The dogs! From the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) K9s to the Search and Rescue (SAR) dogs, seeing them all dressed up in their gear and their antics were the best part of the day.
Netizen, @cikbungalofaa, took to her TikTok page to showcase a PDRM dog that had ‘escaped’ following its performance during the Merdeka Day celebrations at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
She wrote, “A K9 ‘escaped’ and ran a circle around the field while carrying a scroll. Wait for the last part, okay?”
For context, the off leash police dog was showing off its fetching skills in a performance during the Merdeka Day celebrations at the stadium. Though, after fetching its last item (the scroll), it decided to run around the field instead of returning to its officer.
While the officer attempted to grab the dog as it passed near him a couple of times, the dog ultimately prevailed.
Wagging its tail and enjoying its moment, the dog then decided to do a lap around the crowd at the field, surprising a couple of people before making its way back to the center of the field.

At the center of the field, the K9 then decided to relieve itself, in front of the whole crowd!
Thankfully, its officer then quickly took the opportunity to grab it and place its leash back on, before taking it away.
We certainly hope the adorable dog enjoyed its time in the limelight!
