On October 6, 20-year-old Nurul Aliya went missing after taking out trash just outside her house in Temerloh, Pahang.
10 days after her disappearance, Nurul surprisingly returned home by herself at 3 AM and reunited with her concerned family. In an official statement by PDRM in Temerloh, Nurul returned to her family on October 16 (Wednesday).
This was not a kidnapping. According to the Chief Police of the Temerloh district, ACP Mazlan Bin Hassan said Nurul fled to Kuala Lumpur and returned to her family safely, without any harm or injury.
Mazlan, however, did not state why Nurul travelled to Kuala Lumpur after taking out the trash, which was just 5 meters away from her doorstep.
“After being reported missing by her father, the police continued to search for the girl and asked for the public’s cooperation in locating the girl.”
During her disappearance, a man was brought to the police station for questioning but was later released after his statement was deemed irrelevant.
On the other hand, 12-year-old Madrafataha who went missing 2 days after Nurul was reported missing was also found safe by PDRM. Madrafataha’s case has seen been classified as a kidnapping, and suspects, including a 13-year-old, have been detained.
In the statement, Mazlan also thanked everyone who was involved in helping to find Nurul.
With the missing person cases happening a lot recently, it’s wise to be alert on the social circle of your family members, especially the children.
