It’s election season in Malaysia again, well, at least in Kuala Kubu Bharu, as a by-election is taking place at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) constituency following the death of incumbent Lee Kee Hiong.
With polling day set for 11 May, 4 candidates are now hot in their campaign trail as the campaigning period has now commenced.
The war of words between the 2 major camps in KKB by-election
With that in mind, there has been a war of words from the 2 major camps in the by-election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) representing the Unity Government, and the Opposition coalition, Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Previously, doubts were raised by some Unity Government supporters about PN candidate, 54-year-old Khairul Azhari Saut’s academic credentials, whereby they questioned how he could’ve gotten a Master’s Executive degree in business from Universiti Malaysia Pahang within just 2 years of his diploma.
However, Universiti Malaysia Pahang has since confirmed that Khairul had in fact received the Master’s Executive degree, as he was given exemptions due to his career experience.
PAS MP dared the PH candidate to reveal her SPM and UPSR results

Following this, PAS Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Mas, Fadhli Shaari took to Facebook the opportunity to question PH and DAP candidate, 31-year-old Pang Sock Tao’s academic credentials.Ā
Given that she didn’t reveal her SPM and UPSR results in her biodata, Fadhli dared Pang to do so.
Xiao Tao revealed her straight As in both SPM and UPSR
Well, that’s exactly what Pang, more affectionately known as Xiao Tao, did on her official Facebook account today.
Attaching her transcripts for both examinations, it was revealed that Xiao Tao impressively scored straight As in both.Ā
For her UPSR exam in 2005, she received As in all subjects, while in her SPM exam in 2010, she received 4A+, 3A and 3A-.

It was also revealed that Xiao Tao studied at SJK(C) On Pong Ampang in primary school and SM Chuang Hua Port Dickson in secondary school.
In the caption, Xiao Tao said that she owed her teachers for the straight As and also thanked her parents who had never abandoned their children’s education.
As of the time of writing, Xiao Tao’s post has gotten over 1,100 likes and more than 226 shares.
Now, PAS MP alludes that he just wanted the PH candidate to reveal her vernacular school background
Following Xiao Tao’s response, Fahdli again took to Facebook to provide his response to the response, saying that PH supporters are ‘fragile’ and ‘easily aggravated’.
The Pasir Mas MP further claimed that PH supporters were the 1st to start attacking PN’s candidate regarding academic credentials.
He then said that it is now ‘proven’ that Xiao Tao studied in vernacular schools and not in national schools.
Fadhli further asserted,
“(She has) No experience working in the civil service and interacting with society, from early on she only worked with her party and Minister from her party.
“Thanks for the answer. Kuala Kubu Bharu residents can now make a wise choice”
