Just about a week ago, we reported on how the newly opened Taman Tasik Titiwangsa was horribly vandalised within 5 hours of its reopening. And this is absolutely disheartening and disappointing as it reflects how Malaysians are, and have ‘Third World Mentality’.

And even after this first incident was shamed online, you would assume that people would take that as a lesson and probably behave better, right? Wrong.

The Informasi Wilayah has taken to their Twitter account to showcase images in which parents who brought their kids to the Taman Tasik Titiwangsa had decided to leave used, dirty pampers lying around the playgrounds. The worst part? There’s even poop residue on the slides!

Informasi Wilayah wrote, “Third World Mentality, change your ways! This is the situation that can be seen at the newly opened for public use Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. This mirrors the attitude of our community, by caring for the facilities as minimally as possible and leaving used diapers everywhere – considering dustbins have been prepared at every corner for the convenience of keeping things clean. But are these Malaysians, who can only reflect Third World Mentality?

What truly makes things worse is that these parents couldn’t even bring themselves to clean up the mess their children made by leaving poop on the slides, which causes the entire playground to be unsanitary for other kids.

With behaviour like this, it’s only fair that the authorities should be allowed to protect the park by placing law enforcement officers to heavily fine those who believe littering should be a normalised in Malaysia and are leading by example.

This comment goes, “Place enforcement officers there. If you find anyone doing this, fine them on the spot. That’s the way to teach people like this. They care about money. Hit them where it hurts the most, their wallets.”

We’re very curious to see whether this tactic could work, but it’s certainly worth a try, right?

Informasi Wilayah’s posting has since garnered over 1,600 retweets.

This is why we can’t have nice things.
