Padini Holdings issues apology for “insensitive” social media post
They wrote, “Padini Holdings wishes to express our sincere apologies for a recent social media video that was insensitive and caused offence. We take full responsibility and have removed the video from all our platforms. We deeply regret this lapse in judgment and the hurt it has caused. We are deeply sorry for the hurt or disappointment this has caused.”

The post that went viral
Prior to this, Padini Holdings posted a short video that showcases a staff member sitting in a thinking pose on the ground of one of their outlets while contemplating the caption, “How do we tell the customer that the Padini outfit isn’t small, but that she should go on a diet?“.
Many considered this a form of fat-shaming and called the brand out.
