Recently, our Malaysian athlete Nur Dhabitah won fourth place in the women’s individual 3m springboard competition at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre and we Malaysian’s are absolutely proud of her!
It is never an easy journey to become a world-class athlete as it takes loads of hardcore training, sacrifices, dedication, determination and discipline.
With that being said, netizens have dug up one of Nur Dhabitah’s old Facebook posts that proves the number of challenges she had to overcome before getting to where she is now.
In the post, which was first posted on her Facebook back in August 2016, Nur Dhabitah shared a picture of herself undergoing training to become a national diving athlete.
In the picture, Nur Dhabitah can be seen straddling her legs between two chairs while an individual stands on her back, forcing her body down to the floor.
She wrote in the post:
“This is how #malaysiadivingteam trains. Like I told you before, it is not easy to train & be a world-class athlete. That’s why I really appreciate all of your supports & encouragement. Please don’t stop & please don’t start hating me. I am trying my best to be great. P/S: That’s me…being crushed…but I did not die.”
Malaysians flood comment section with praises
From the time her post was recirculated on the internet, Malaysians took it as a reminder to appreciate the amount of effort and dedication she has put in to represent Malaysia.
Malaysian netizens flooded the comment section of the old post, leaving nothing but praises!
Let’s continue to support our national athletes in the upcoming Olympics games!
