How are Malaysians reacting to this small but significant news?
Just one day after his Covid-19 National Recovery Plan, Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, dropped another announcement today (16 June). Henceforth, the Prime Minister’s name should be addressed as follows:
- Mahiaddin bin. Md Yasin
- Tan Sri Dato Haji Mahiaddin bin. Haji Md Yasin
In a viral image circulating all over social media, a memo from the PM’s Chief Private Secretary was addressed to all the officers and staffs at the Prime Minister’s Office. It was stated that every official document and letter addressed to the PM must only use the two names above.
Over on Twitter, “Mahiaddin” trends with Malaysians calling out the PM for his lack of priorities. The name change comes after several quarters pointed out that the PM’s name was being spelt wrongly.
Let us know what you think about the PM’s new name!
