The Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Kuala Lumpur has seized a luxury vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man in the city on Friday (27 March) during its OPS Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) 2026 enforcement operation.
The vehicle, a Ford Mustang, was seized due to several offences, including the driver’s lack of a valid driving licence, as well as the car not having a valid Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), more commonly known as road tax, and insurance coverage.

A repeat offence
Taking to its official Facebook page, JPJ Kuala Lumpur added that the enforcement action took place in the city centre. The post also attached several photos of the orange-coloured car, which looks to be a Ford Mustang GT.
Regarding the enforcement action, JPJ Kuala Lumpur Director Hamidi Adam was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that this was actually not the first time the authorities have taken action against the vehicle.
In fact, an enforcement action for a similar offence was taken by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) against the vehicle less than a month ago.

Unacceptable excuses
Hamidi added that checks found that the driver was not the owner of the Ford Mustang, and when stopped, the man claimed he was on his way back home.
“The man was found to be driving with an expired driving licence and claimed to be on his way home when stopped. The car belonged to another individual who claimed to be in the process of renewing its LKM,” the JPJ Kuala Lumpur Director stated.
However, JPJ stressed that such excuses don’t justify the car being driven on a public road. Consequently, the Ford Mustang was seized for further action under the Road Transport Act 1987.

Hamidi emphasised that JPJ will continue to step up monitoring and enforcement to ensure all road users comply with the law and do not take safety for granted.
