It appears that some people are trying to politicise the recent court case involving Siti Bainun and her alleged abuse of down-syndrome child, Bella.

Recently, false news was being spread that former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had a connection with Siti Bainun. However, this was quickly put to bed.

Now, another former Prime Minister has also been accused of having a connection with the alleged child abuser. BERSATU Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal recently shared an old picture of Najib where he was spotted presenting an award to Siti Bainun.

The post did not go down well with Najib who quickly took to his Facebook to clarify the picture. “This is the standard of BERSATU. The youth chief of BERSATU.”

Out of desperation to link me with Bella’s case, he shared my post from 2016. We understand his intentions. Fasting or not, he doesn’t care,” he wrote.

“I have explained twice since last year. I know that those over there are trying to associate me with the case as I have attended a Puteri UMNO ceremony in 2016 where Siti Bainun received an award. Because I attended a ceremony organised by someone else, you want to link it with me,” he added.

Inilah standard PPBM. Ketua Armada PPBM.Hanya sebab terdesak nak kaitkan Najib dengan kes Bella, dia baru kongsikan…

He went on to highlight how BERSATU President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was also previously in his party.

“You label me as a thief. In my logic does that mean Muhyiddin is linked to a thief as he was previously in my cabinet and party? Do you have a brain?”

He stated that as explained by a statement by UMNO’s women chief in 2021, every case must be investigated properly by the authorities and the perpetrator must be brought to justice and that no one is immune from legal action.

“Ever since last year, I have been following the case of Bella and I really sympathise towards her. However, I did not choose the recipient of the award in 2016 and personally, I am less familiar with Siti Bainun,” he explained.

“I think it would be better for you to ask the Puteri UMNO chief who organised the event in 2016 who has now jumped to BERSATU,” said Najib, in reference to Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, who is a deputy minister in the prime minister’s department.

In another post, he mocked Wan Fayhsal by tagging him along with a picture of himself and Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin.

In the caption he wrote, “When will you associate me with Russia’s war against Ukraine?”
