As Namewee’s remand expired today (10 November), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has successfully extended his remand for another 3 days, which is expected to last until Thursday (13 November).
The extension of the remand is to allow Namewee to assist the police in the investigation of the murder of Taiwanese influencer, Iris Hsieh, who was found dead inside a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur on 22 October, where Namewee was arrested with drugs and tested positive for illegal substances.

Namewee’s remand order extended for another 3 days
Namewee’s lawyer was at the Dang Wangi Police Station this morning for the remand extension process, which ended around 11 AM before the lawyer faced the media.
Speaking to the media who were waiting outside the police station, Namewee’s lawyer, Cheng (transliteration), revealed what Namewee thought of the matter.
“He insisted that he is innocent.”
Is Namewee the only suspect?
The media also wondered if Namewee is the sole suspect in the case, to which Cheng couldn’t answer the question.
“I have no right to answer this question; it should be left for the police to answer.”
Cheng also pointed out that he wasn’t sure himself if Namewee is the only suspect in this case.

“The police applied for a remand extension because the investigation was incomplete. I hope the police can complete the investigation as soon as possible and release my client,” Cheng told the media, as reported by China Press.
As for Iris’ body, it was reported that her family members had appointed a representative to claim the body for funeral arrangements. The parents, due to health reasons, could not make it to Malaysia for the purpose.
