Before his release on police bail yesterday (13 November), Namewee requested to visit the hospital for a checkup.
The matter was confirmed by Namewee’s lawyer himself, who was present at the Dang Wangi Police Station yesterday for his release. His lawyer told the media that Namewee wanted a detailed physical checkup, but did not disclose the reason behind his intention, and refused to comment further about the matter, as reported by China Press and Sin Chew.

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) sent him to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a thorough checkup upon his request. Namewee returned to the Dang Wang Police Station at around 2:20 PM after his visit to the hospital.
Namewee was then released on police bail at around 4:30 PM, but PDRM also confirmed that his “freedom” is only temporary, as the singer is only released until 26 November, and the police are still awaiting Iris Hsieh’s autopsy and toxicology report.
At the time of writing (14 November), Namewee has yet to break the silence about his days under police custody.
Iris Hsieh’s death was reclassified as murder after it was initially labelled as sudden death (SDR). She was found dead inside a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur on 22 October, where Namewee was also arrested with drugs on him, and tested positive for four different substances.
PDRM also recently confirmed that Namewee and Iris had a special relationship, which began when both were still abroad, and the record found that Iris had checked into the hotel for four days before she was scheduled to return to Taiwan.
