Last December, the nation was shocked when a child with autism was reported missing. Subsequently, Zayn Rayyan’s body was discovered 200 metres away from home.
In the latest development of this case, the parents of the victim have been remanded by PDRM for 7 days.
According to ASTRO AWANI, the Selangor State Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has said that the Magistrate Court of Petaling Jaya issued the remand order on both of the suspects.
It is said that the arrest of the victim’s parents was based on intelligence.
“The arrest was based on intelligence from the day of the incident until now. This arrest is to help the investigation,” he said.
“They were remanded for seven days, investigated according to Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder),“ he continued.
On December 5, 2023, Zayn Rayyan was reported to be missing by his parents, and he was found dead 200 metres away from home the next day.
The Sungai Buloh Hospital’s Forensic and Pathology Department has verified that the 6-year-old died from injuries to the neck and body from defending himself.
As a result of that, DNA samples from more than 225 individuals were taken to aid with the investigation.
PDRM has said that they have never stopped investigating this case and are always open to new clues.
