The Covid-19 pandemic back then has rendered everything to be digitalised, especially when it comes to cashless payment to curb the spread of the virus.
Although it is now endemic, cashless transactions are still highly encouraged, simply because they ease the process a lot when you don’t have enough cash. However, some people may not expect to see cashless payments at public toilets. In case you are not aware, there is one in Solaris Mont Kiara, where users are required to tap their card before using the toilet facilities.
Visitors are required to pay RM1.20 per entry. Only cashless payment is accepted, as revealed by a Reddit user who recently visited the place.
“Saw this abomination in Solaris.”
The Reddit user clarified that he has no issues in paying to use the toilet facilities, but he certainly did not expect to see a card reader outside a toilet, and not at places that should have such convenience.
“It’s so mind boggling. The fact that a public toilet have a system like this and not at LRT stations is crazy.”
Netizens were also baffled not only by the price but also by the card reader’s presence at someplace unexpected.
“Okay, great! Now someplace that needs it, please”
Another netizen pointed out that despite the “atas” system and pricing, the toilet is not in decent condition.
A netizen highlighted something that has been bugging many people’s minds, especially those who take the trains regularly.
Have you used the toilet facility at the mentioned place before? What do you think of the system and the pricing?
