M’sians Praise JPJ for Swift Action Against Bus & Lorry Operators Driving in the Fast Lane in JB

A video of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officers has gone viral on social media recently, catching the attention of Malaysians who unanimously praised them for a job well done.

The video, shared by the 我是新山人 I Love JB Facebook page has garnered more than 2,700 reactions and over 78,000 views as of the time of writing.

 

JPJ enforcement officers take swift actions against heavy vehicle drivers violating traffic rules

The video, recorded using a body cam of one of the JPJ enforcement officers, shows the POV of the motorcycle patrol unit while on duty on the main roads of Johor Bahru, Johor.

Throughout the video, several heavy vehicles were stopped by the JPJ enforcement officers for driving in the fast lane. These include several buses and lorries.

All of the heavy vehicles which were spotted committing the offence were pulled over by the JPJ enforcement officers, with all of the respective heavy vehicle drivers and operators being issued a summon.

In the caption of the post, 我是新山人 I Love JB claimed that JPJ has been doing this operation against heavy vehicles driving in the fast lane since Wednesday (3 March) on the main roads of Johor Bahru.

Malaysians urge for stricter and more frequent enforcement

In the comments section, Malaysians were elated to see these heavy vehicle drivers getting punished for the offence and unanimously praised JPJ for the swift action taken.

Several commenters lauded the JPJ enforcement officers for a good job and hoped that they could further take action against more traffic offenders in the country.

Meanwhile, one commenter urged for operators of large vehicles who violate the law to be given more severe punishments.

Besides that, a few commenters said that JPJ should have done such an operation a long time ago and hoped that moving forward, it would be done more frequently.

Kudos to the JPJ enforcement officers for the successful operation and we hope that this could be a lesson for all road users to be more courteous while driving and follow the traffic rules.
