Prior to this, the state government installed a total of 135 Free WiFi Hotspots in Johor with a budget of RM12.9 million early last year (2017). However, the Johor Free WiFi Hotspots were only installed in selected areas like recreational parks and at each local council office in the state.

Now, there will be a total of 768 JCorp (Johor Corporation) WiFi hotspots in all districts of Johor. So, you can get access to WiFi anywhere in the state!

The project was just launched on Sunday, the 28th of January by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who also launched the 135 Johor Free WiFi Hotspots during his walkabout at the newly refurbished Larkin Sentral bus terminal.

The JCorp WiFi, which is a part of the 12 corporate initiatives undertaken by the Johor Corporation, will be installed in stages and maintained by the corporation themselves, at a total cost of RM10 million a year for the next five years. Costly, but it is all for a good cause – free WiFi!

There you have it! Now, Johorians and every tourist that visits Johor will be able to enjoy free WiFi Hotspots all over the state. Woohoo!
