Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Dengkil students are currently receiving backlash both online and offline from fellow students and netizens, after a group was spotted parading the campus while dressed as Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members.
X user, @YuenA_9, took to their profile to showcase a video of the incident, where a group of 6 students had donned KKK costumes while carrying crosses.

The user wrote, “UiTM Dengkil students doing a KKK parade (allegedly) and everyone is watching in amusement rather than stopping them. Great time for our Malaysia.”
Law students doing an assignment?
A student anonymously offered clarification that law students were doing a social project assignment meant to create social awareness on crimes against humanity and pointed out that this group, who had chosen to do the assignment on the KKK, had taken things too far.

“The video that has been going around is for our ‘social campaign’, where the main goal is to conduct a survey to see whether people are aware of such situations, and then the results will be put into our presentation,”
“This group in particular, they actually had already conducted their survey through Google Forms, so this parade and them holding up the crosses, and also doing a photoshoot, is completely just them bring straight up disrespectful,” the student said, adding that their lecturer only approved the topic, not the theatrics.

They also alleged that the group dressed as the KKK were acting aggressively towards their fellow students who were calling them out.
For those who may not know, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was a racist group established in America by people who believed in white supremacy and wanted to see African Americans remain as enslaved people. The KKK also discriminated against Roman Catholics, Jewish people and Mexicans.
WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to UiTM Dengkil for comment but has yet to hear back.
