These days, the market for F&B businesses is so saturated that brands have to be creative and innovative in their products to stand out.
However, we Malaysians take our food very seriously, so there’s a fine line between a genius innovative product and a crime against humanity.
Recently, a particular Burger KLCC and Roti John Banjir has gone viral on Twitter and the people have spoken- Malaysians have ruled these dishes as illegal!
It’s too much!
Burger KLCC and Roti John Banjir are the signature dishes of an eatery in Perlis. Considering the countless number of burger and roti john stalls there are in Malaysia, this eatery had put a spin on the classic street foods to attract customers.
The Burger KLCC is an intimidating stack of burgers that resembles the KLCC twin towers. It’s served on a tray with a spread of fries and four different dipping sauces.
The “towers” are also drenched in mayonnaise, chili sauce and lots and lots of bright yellow cheese sauce, like those you get with your KFC wedges!
Whereas the Roti John Banjir is the well-loved open sandwich topped with an obscene amount of melted cheese from the pan, similar to the Swiss raclette.
Netizens are not impressed
People tend to love the gooey and pungent goodness of cheese, but this time, Malaysians are not impressed.
After seeing the Burger KLCC and Roti John Banjir soaked with cheese, they only had negative things to say about the dishes.
“Is this KLCC or what? Might as well just write the letter H,” dissed one netizen.
Another netizen threw shade at the eatery, “Not all unique ideas are useful”.
“Can tell that it doesn’t taste good just by looking at it. Anything that uses cheese sauce except for cheesy wedges is trash.”
Nonetheless, the eatery still has its fans. Many Malaysians in the business’ social media’s comment section constantly tag friends and family to express their interest of trying the special dishes.
“I’m ready bro. Let’s go later,” said one supporter.
