A 63-year-old woman found a 4D lottery ticket lying on the ground while watching a lion dance performance at Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple.

The Singaporean woman decided to pick it up and try to find the owner but had no luck.

She insisted on finding the owner

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Ms. Chen said the tickets had bets for the 4D draws on February 8 and 9.

The punter had placed SGD2 on both bets for the numbers “3388” and “8833,” and by chance, one of the numbers on the ticket turned out to be the jackpot winner later that week.

When she found out, she immediately handed the ticket to the police, hoping to track down the original owner.

The number “3388” won 1st prize

Seeing the draws hadn’t happened yet, Ms. Chen kept a close eye on the numbers and made sure to pay extra attention to the combinations on the ticket.

Being a regular 4D player herself, she figured the ticket’s owner would feel anxious if those numbers got drawn.

“Funny enough, ‘3388’ ended up being the 1st Prize on Sunday (9 Feb),” she said.

When she found out, Ms. Chen went straight to Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre to report it and hand over the winning ticket.

“I don’t want what’s not mine”

When asked if she ever thought about keeping the money, Ms. Chen said the winnings weren’t hers and stuck to her plan of finding the ticket’s owner.

She mentioned that what’s hers is hers, and she doesn’t want money that isn’t hers.

The bettors had won SGD10,000 from the winning ticket.
