How do you tell it’s election season aside from the perfect road condition where there are no signs of potholes and road damage? A convoy of cars with the flags of their political parties.
The people in Kelantan, however, took the celebration up to another level. In a TikTok clip shared by @zafranabdulrazzaq, the man shared what it was like the night before the state election in Kota Bharu, the capital city of Kelantan. Long story short, it was LIT!
The clip started with the passengers in a Perodua Unser igniting fireworks from inside the car itself while another passenger waved the PH flag. Next, you see supporters of PAS and PN on a crane that was placed on a truck celebrating the election eve. The vehicle was shaking but not their will as they continued to show their support for their ideal leaders.
Other than that, you can also see motorcycle riders waving the flags of other political parties on the road, there were also supporters dressed in costumes and some even happily danced on the moving truck!
It was like a celebration of Independence Day and those who didn’t know, particularly foreign tourists would be shocked to find out it was merely the celebration of the state elections.
The flags of all political parties were also seen in the viral clip, implying that in Kelantan, every political party has its own supporters.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Zafran, who is from Kelantan himself said that it was not the first time that such a celebration was done to welcome the election season.
“The celebration for election season in Kelantan is always bombastic every year. We rarely miss it,” Zafran told WORLD OF BUZZ.
Election season on the East Coast = FUN
Malaysian netizens were also shocked to see how BIG the celebration was on the East Coast when it was done just for the state elections.
“The environment during election season in Kelantan looks fun!”
“The election season on the East Coast is so fun!”
“Malaysia is great. Whoever wins, let’s just accept it. In the coming GE, we vote again. It’s a huge loss NOT to vote.”
“Enemies during the election, but friends after the election.”
“This is how it’s supposed to be. Regardless of which party you support, we just entertain each other.”
