She was excited to try out the new mobile beauty spa service at first. She didn’t have to go through heavy traffic to get herself pampered and at the same time, she could improve her skin condition conveniently.
Unfortunately, the experience was far from great as Inazalina Zalina suffered 2nd and 3rd degrees burns on her face and neck after the beautician let hot water from the steamer bowl fall on her face and neck. This happened even after Inazalina warned the beautician the bowl was too close to her face.
Her traumatic experience was shared by her close friend, Nur Narquiyah Halil, in a Facebook post which has since gone viral.

Narquiyah wrote,
“My concern is that there were no safety precautions taken at all during the facial spa until the beautician accidentally let hot water from the steamer bowl fall on my friend’s face, eyes and neck despite my friend’s warning that the placement is too near to her.”
She further elaborated that her friend demanded an explanation from the beautician but she was only given some vitamin C to deal with the problem. As for the founder, she refused to apologise and hold responsibility for the accident.
At the moment, the Facebook page for the mobile spa, The Walking Beauty Project, has been deactivated.
She also added,
“So here I am, helping my friend to viral this issue so that no one else will ever use their service as there were no safety precautions. Who knows, the next victim might be you and you do not want your face to end up like this.”
As for the victim, her skin will never be the same again. No amount of supplements and vitamins can restore her skin to its original state. They have already made a police report and met with some lawyers in order to figure out the best way to deal with the matter.
The owner of The Walking Beauty has released a statement on the Facebook page, explaining how she only provides training to future beauticians. She said,
“After they have finished their course, it is up to them on how they want to run their business. They pay us only once for the training course and product.”
She also explained that The Walking Beauty is not, by any form, an employer to these beauticians. They open their own mobile spas after they have finished their training with the company. She added,
“Any accidents that occur are caused by the mobile spa and the owner of the spa should be responsible for them, not The Walking Beauty, as we only provide training.”
She has mentioned that her lawyer has adviced her to take legal action.
What we can learn from this accident is that before you embark or try any treatment by any independent businesses, please practice caution and investigate thoroughly as well as check their standard operating procedures. Or just go to the professionals. You might have to pay more but you don’t have to worry as much.
