A 25-year-old Malaysian woman was allegedly tortured by her mentally ill mother, as she was used as a maid and abused for 4 years despite coming from a wealthy family.
Philanthropist, Uncle Kentang, shared the woman’s story after having recently met up with her. He revealed that she had lost eyesight in one of her eyes due to her mother’s alleged abuse.

He wrote, “Your mum is mentally ill, and your dad is a narcissist. No point in us going and hunting them down. I met a Melaka girl, a pretty 25-year-old Chinese girl. She was used as a maid by her mum. Her dad promised to give her RM30,000 a year to work as a maid, but she didn’t get even a cent.”
“She has 3 brothers and she is the only daughter. Her mum treated her as a slave and beat her up until she lost eyesight in one of her eyes.”
Her mother had apparently punched her, tore her hair out and spit at her. She was allegedly beaten every morning and would be forced to hand wash the countless clothes her mother bought.

On top of that, she was apparently disallowed from using a phone, listening to music and watching TV, and her family home has about 36 CCTVs to monitor her every move.
In May 2024, after enduring 4 years of her mother’s torture and losing her eyesight in one eye, she decided to run away from home and sought the help of an NGO. She was housed in an NGO home until she left in May of this year.
To take action or to move on
Uncle Kentang spoke to the woman about her options, that she could take her parents to court over the abuse she endured. They also considered the parents’ affluent background and their connections with prominent people.
“There needs to be a lot of courage, as her parents are wealthy and will engage with a good lawyer to tear her down for the second time.”
He then spoke to her about moving on with her life, and finding a purpose for herself.
“Forgive and move on. It is time to move on by herself. She has great potential to be developed as she is young and pretty. She has the sweetest smile, she is polite and humble but bruised in her spirit and soul,”
“In the way of life teachings, I told her to put down her baggage. I advised her not to revisit her pain. What she has now is guidance and support from us. I gave her RM1,000 to get a car license. It is encouragement to upgrade her skills,” he said.
Uncle Kentang ended his post by advising kids of abusive parents to leave them and their teachings behind to live a life worthy of themselves.
