While our 67th National Day has come and gone, the patriotic spirit is still in the air for many Malaysians (especially with Malaysia Day now around the corner!).
And that spirit is felt more so by Malaysian rapper and Selangor State Legislative Assemblyman for Lembah Jaya, Altimet!
Recently, netizen, Jmin 俞敏心; took to her TikTok page to showcase primary school kids from an SJKC performing the rapper’s song, Negaraku (no, not the national anthem), for their Merdeka Day celebrations.
Jmin 俞敏心 commented on the students’ performance, “Not so good, but can lah.”
In the video, the students could be seen on stage at their school as they performed ‘Negaraku’ by Altimet, Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and Faizal Tahir.
2 of the students sang the chorus of the song beautifully before another student impressively broke out into the song’s rap.
Not only did the students impress netizens but the song’s original performer, Altimet, was also impressed!
The rapper and Lembah Jaya ADUN took to his X profile to share just how proud he was to watch the students perform his song.
He wrote, “Tears of pride came to my eyes when I watched this video. Real talk. This is an honour far more valuable than any trophy anyone can give me.”
