A Malaysian clinic recently encountered a case where a patient requested that their RM50 medical bill be increased to RM350, allegedly to facilitate a larger reimbursement, possibly from insurance or their employer.
According to The Sun, the clinic firmly rejected the request, stating that altering official records would be dishonest and against the law.

The doctor later shared the incident on social media to raise awareness about the ethical responsibilities of both healthcare providers and patients. The post quickly gained traction and sparked public outrage online.
According to the post, the patient left with a “forced smile” and glared at the staff whilst leaving.
“Please, next time try another clinic. At mine, all transactions must be honest – only then will it be blessed,” the doctor concluded.
Many netizens supported the clinic’s decision, condemning the patient’s request as fraudulent.
The story also reignited discussions around the abuse of medical claims and the importance of maintaining transparency within the healthcare system.
