“Item just got shipped two minutes ago? Going to start tracking it now,” that’s probably how impatient some of us are when it comes to online shopping. However, this guy is a totally different story because he actually forgot about the item he ordered and it surprisingly arrived at his doorstep 14 years later!
In an email shared to WORLD OF BUZZ, Gerain Chan from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah told us how he had ordered a photobook of Hong Kong Cantopop duo, Twins, 14 years ago from a seller in Hong Kong and the parcel only arrived at his doorstep on 4 February 2019.
He said,
“When I received this photobook in a registered mail package from Hong Kong, I was really surprised and confused until I saw a handwritten note included in the package. The seller recently found out that my book from 14 years ago hasn’t been posted yet so he/she finally posted it to me together with the money I had sent to the seller previously.”
“Back then, I thought the book had gotten lost during the shipping process. I was so touched that the seller still posted it to me even after so long!”
In the note, the seller also apologised to Chan for the mistake and sent it to the same address with the hope that he is still staying there. Thank god he didn’t move out!
This story has restored faith in many netizens as the seller chose to honour the transaction and even did a refund instead of just sweeping it under the rug.
Well, we’re glad that Chan has finally gotten his photobook albeit a fair bit of delay. Now we’re wondering if this is the only online shopping item he had forgotten about or if there are others!
