Red pens, DIY cards, snacks, you name it. Teachers often receive a myriad of gifts during Teacher’s Day when students take the opportunity to show their appreciation towards their educator. This year, some teachers at a school in KL received a rare gift from their students – medicated oil aka minyak kapak!
In a Facebook post by Nadia Faeza on May 15, she shared images that show packs of medicated oil being prepared as a Teacher’s Day gift, which her children would give to their teachers. Each pack of medicated oil was decorated with a ribbon and included with a sticky note.
Who knows the medicated oil might come in handy for the teachers to cure their headaches temporarily. Being a teacher is not a walk in the park.
Nadia has 3 children who go to the same school, and for the 40 packs of medicated oil, she spent only RM100. Well, we don’t need to spend big bucks to show appreciation to our teachers. Sincerity is all that matters.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Nadia said the teachers were happy when they received the present from her children. In fact, some of them even took a trip down memory lane because that was the same medicated oil they used during their childhood.
Nadia also shared some screenshots of a conversation with the teachers in which they expressed their gratitude for the gifts.
1 of the teachers praised the gifts and described them as “innovative and interesting”.
Another teacher said that despite the size of the gift, it may come in handy in times of emergency.
“I like it because my late mother is a fan of this medicated oil. She used to buy big bottles of them, and she only used this particular brand.”
“Thank you. This is a rare gift! It’s as if you knew what we need.”
When asked why medicated oil was chosen as a gift, Nadia told WORLD OF BUZZ that it had something to do with her recent headache. One of her sons came back from school and asked about the presents for Teacher’s Day, which Nadia told him,
“I’ll think about it later. I’m having a headache now.”
Her son then said, “My teachers always have headaches too”.
And that’s how the idea of giving medicated oil came to light. Nadia added that the medicated oil is suitable for everyone’s use and said that all teachers received the same medicated oil of the same brand.
“I told my kids that they have to give the equal amount of love.”
