If you don’t already know, there’s a trend going around online about calling for age restrictions at beauty product stores, after an alarming rate of children have been posting about their make up and skin care ‘hauls’ on social media.
But that’s not all. These children have also apparently been leaving testers and display counters in chaos and allegedly having no respect for staff and other customers.
Now, Malaysian parents have been called out for allowing their children to ‘play’ with expensive make up testers and destroying them. A local make up artist, Blaine (*name changed for privacy purposes), shared an example of this after a child had ruined make up palette testers worth RM405.
“When parents don’t know how to take care of their children, and don’t know how to scold them. Even after I had already confronted (the kid), their mum can say, ‘sayang (sweetheart), don’t touch‘, but the destroyed items are mine.”
“(The kid) opened all of the perfume bottle covers until a bottle almost fell, I scolded by saying, ‘don’t touch, it’s expensive‘, and their parents can just watch,” he said.
He went on to urge parents to discipline their kids, especially when they are not in their own home
“Please lah, I’m triggered to have watched that, don’t give me excuses like, ‘you don’t have kids, you don’t know how it feels‘.”
“If you’re going to someone’s house, you tell your kids to behave properly. (If they) break people’s things, destroy them, don’t tell me you’re just going to smile? Do you have common sense? I’m tired of fighting with parents like this,” he added.
Blaine explained to WORLD OF BUZZ that his main purpose of sharing this incident is to warn parents to keep an eye on their children’s behaviour.
