We usually depend a lot on map apps to find our way around. Whether we’re trying to find the fastest route or just don’t know where we’re going, the app comes in real handy… or so we thought.
In a recent update shared by Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Sik, it was revealed how they responded to an emergency call from a victim who had become lost in a forest in Kedah today.
He was riding his motorcycle alone at 1:00 AM
A man in his 30s was found in a trembling and weak state in a rubber and oil palm plantation after being lost for almost 6 hours.
It was revealed that the GPS he was using didn’t provide coverage for the trip from Sg. Lalang to Sungai Petani and then to Penang.
At the time of the incident, he was coming back from visiting friends and family for Hari Raya, riding alone on his motorcycle at 1:00am.
The man was examined and found with no injuries
Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Sik continued to explain that based on observations and external physical examinations, no injuries were found except for mosquito bites and bruises on the face and hands.
The response team calmed the victim and he was taken to Teloi Timur Health Clinic’s emergency unit using the EMRS department after he complained of shortness of breath.
They handed over the incident case to the PDRM for further action.
We’re relieved he’s been found safe. Just a friendly reminder to everyone to be cautious and alert when using navigation map apps, especially late at night!
