Many road accidents happen in Malaysia daily but there are times when those accidents can cause other accidents.
Recently, a woman and her family were travelling from the Jenjarom Dong Zen temple to Alam Perdana when they crashed into a motorcyclist who had beaten the red light.
The woman said that she called the emergency number as soon as the accident occurred and in 6 minutes, the ambulance arrived to transport the motorcyclist to the hospital.
As they wanted to address the situation but not in the middle of the road, they went to a nearby petrol station along Jalan Kapar, Klang around 11 pm.
However, they noticed that there were more and more people surrounding the family of five (including a baby) and feeling frightened, they went into the fast food restaurant attached to the petrol station to seek refuge, reported China Press.
In a live stream on Facebook, the woman stressed that they were not going to hit and run and had all the proof on their dashcam. They were about to go to the police station but with the crowd surrounding them, they were unable to move and felt fearful.
According to Sin Chew Daily, they called the police multiple times and were asked to go to the police to report the case but when they explained that they couldn’t because of the crowd surrounding them, the police accessed the nearby CCTV to check.
During a call with the police, they allegedly said that since there are only about 20 people there and the family is not getting beaten up, so it’s not that serious. The statement shocked the woman.
In addition to that, some of the people surrounding them tried to grab their dashcam but she stopped them and told them that it was proof that would be given to the police.
It took a while for the police to come and the woman with her children were safely escorted home while her husband went to the Kapar police station to lodge a police report.
Remember, the best way to help someone out after an accident is to submit proof or eyewitness accounts to the police and not by taking it into your own hands.
