It’s no secret that it’s wrong to take something that doesn’t belong to you.
But, should it ever be too late to rectify the immoral act?
Founder of My Station Convenience Shop, Shahhul Hamed Sanudin took to his Facebook page to showcase a former employee who had returned an amount of money they had taken from a cash register way back when the individual had worked at his convenience store.
Shahhul Hamed Sanudin wrote, “Alhamdulillah. Thank you and I hope your burdens are eased. Don’t do it again okay.”
The former employee also left him a letter confessing to their crime and apologising.
“Assalamualaikum to boss Hamed. Before this, I used to work here and I took money from the cash register. Now, I am returning the money, I apologise for my prior actions,” the letter read.
People have since shared their belief that the former employee may have initially taken the money out of desperation.
“At that time, maybe he was strapped (for cash).”
“Maybe a desperate situation.”
“Alhamdulillah, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they really needed (the money) and now they are returning it.”
We’re happy that the former employee managed to clear their conscience by returning the money they had previously taken.
