In Chinese culture and belief, if you’re really keen to look for a partner, a visit to the temple and praying to Yue Lao is also the way to go. Yue Lao is the God of marriage & love in the Chinese mythology.
Malaysian cross-dresser who often makes a controversial entrance, Bryan Wee recently visited a temple in Batu Pahat, Johor to have a “conversation” with Yue Lao about what he’s looking for – the right partner.
But here’s the catch. Bryan wants a partner who can give him RM10,000 every month.
He followed the “ritual” by purchasing the red string at the temple before making his wish and placing the red string on Yue Lao’s hand. Aside from a partner, Bryan also prayed for his wealth.
After that, he walked on the Lover’s Bridge. Any couple who walks on the bridge is believed to have one fate in the future – a breakup. He sat on the ledge of the bridge and said,
“If I can’t find a lover, I’ll jump into the river!”
Netizens are as confused as Yue Lao might’ve been
The remainder of the clip, which was posted on his Facebook shows him strolling around the town in Batu Pahat. Netizens, on the other hand, found his clip hilarious and said that they were as confused as Yue Lao might’ve been.
“I guess even Yue Lao is confused if he should grant you a male or female partner. He’s having a major headache thinking about it.”
“I can feel that Yue Lao is shaking now.”
“Can I just push you down into the river?”
“Dear local filmmakers, you can just look for this man to star in your horror movies. No make-up needed.”
“I think Yue Lao is frustrated about what to do now.”
“Your presence sent chills down Yue Lao’s spine, and I think he turned away when he saw you.”
You can watch the clip below.
Well, at least he makes an effort to pray for a partner and his luck in finding the one he desires lies in what God has in store for him.
