A Malaysian woman had the shock of her life when a simple buggy ride at a shopping mall turned into a scary situation when the security guard driving the buggy decided to extend their journey and ask her for her phone number.
The woman, Saufia Alias, took to her Threads account to recall this incident that happened at a mall in Selangor.

She wrote, “So yesterday (Wednesday, June 18), I went to (a shopping mall in Selangor). It’s just near my house. I parked in B1, and there was this Nepalese guard who asked which shop I was going to and offered to send me (with a buggy) to the entrance closest to the shop (which in this case was Village Grocer).”
“So I got on, and he said, ‘Hang on yeah, I need to go around to offer rides to others‘.”
The security guard ended up taking the buggy around the parking lot until the lowest floor, B3.
“The lowest parking floor is very deserted.”
Saufia explained that she started feeling frightened when she realised that the ride was taking too long and that the security guard was driving the buggy to the lowest floor, where there were the fewest cars.

“Along the way, of course, I felt scared because, by right, we should reach Village Grocer very quickly. We were talking as he was asking me many questions,”
“He went around the parking area for 25 minutes. I was feeling very anxious; I just didn’t want anything to happen. Because on weekdays, the lowest parking floor is very deserted,” she added.
The guard apparently asked her questions about her marital status, to which she told him she is married. He allegedly even asked her if her husband was living with her and asked for her phone number.
“Suddenly, he asked for my phone number. He said he wants to be friends. I blanked for a minute, as I told him I am married but he was still asking for my phone number.”
While pointing out that she is incapable of telling people off, Saufia ultimately decided to give the security guard a random phone number and name. He proceeded to write it down in a notebook and apparently told her he would call her at 10:30pm that night.
“I just kept quiet. I didn’t say anything. When he saw that I was quiet, he said that if I was unhappy, I could just block him.”
In the end, the security guard dropped her off after a 25-minute buggy ride around the parking lot.
The mall has taken action

Saufia has since shared that the shopping mall reached out to her to apologise and inform her that they have since sent the foreign security guard back to his agency.
They added that their security team will be on high alert when monitoring security guards from a third-party agency.
Kudos to the mall for taking quick action to ensure the safety of female shoppers.
