Owls are fascinating creatures that are definitely worth learning more about! When you’re out in the woods for an extended time, they can make surprisingly good company.
In a recent video posted by @azlansyah485, he is seen calling a random owl by its name. The owl responds with familiarity, flying towards him and landing nearby.
He named it “Mona”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Azlan revealed that the owl, whom he refers to as Mona, is a wild owl that lives near the sea in Johor, where it finds fish to eat.
“I found Mona at my workplace while I was on duty. My workplace is adjacent to the sea, specifically at Sarang Buaya Pasir Gudang, Johor.”
It’s giving Harry Potter vibes!
Azlan explained that he named the owl Mona because he believes it’s a female bird. When he first encountered Mona, it was unable to fly due to an injury.
He took it upon himself to care for Mona and provide the necessary treatment. Over time, they developed a bond and built a friendship until it regained its ability to fly.
“The bird is named “Mona” because it’s an owl (burung hantu), which reminded me of Mona Fandey… Just kidding! I think this bird is female, so I chose the name Mona for her,” he jokingly explained.
He lets Mona roam free whenever it wants
Azlan became fascinated with owls after meeting Mona, prompting him to conduct research and begin training her to respond to his calls.
He then revealed that he has been with Mona for 3 months already, allowing it to roam freely wherever it wants, and ensuring that it is always fed.
“If anyone wants to visit Mona’s habitat, you can come to Sarang Buaya Pasir Gudang. If you’re lucky, you might meet Mona at that time. Its main food is fish, but as for snacks, she also eats frogs and crabs.”
