Losing family members or close friends is something one cannot just describe with a few words. Often times, people who were close to the deceased may take several days, or even years even to bounce back from grief and shock.
In a post by Muslim Awang on Twitter, he shared his youngest brother Abdullah Munzir’s bittersweet Instagram stories that will both warm and crush your heart.
According to Muslim Awang, their father passed away 3 days before Munzir’s graduation. Being a good son, he bailed on the graduation altogether to accompany their recently widowed mother.
However, on graduation day, Munzir shared all 8 graduation pictures of his siblings in his Instagram story.
Except one, that is.
Notice that there isn’t any picture in the last story, but what is written instead is a heart wrenching and empowering message by the youngest graduate in the family.
“Today, your youngest child graduated but I didn’t go because I want to accompany mom. But you shouldn’t be worried dad, I used to be one of the most ‘power’ students in class. Thank you for nurturing all of us in becoming useful citizens. We hope that our success will always make you smile. Al-Fatihah.”
Muslim Awang also shared his 7th brother’s Whatsapp status in the thread, and that crushed us as well.
He said that their father entrusted the family’s company to his 7th son, so usually they would meet up in the same office every morning.
“Dad!!!”
“Where are you dad? It’s already 8, you should’ve come to work by now.”
He was their hero
Their late father was such an inspiration that Muslim Awang wrote a lot of wholesome poetry about him. The man is obviously missed by all of his children.
However, Muslim Awang said that all 8 of them are relieved because they managed to realise their late father’s greatest wish. The siblings bathed, shrouded, hugged, prayed for and buried the deceased all on their own.
Moving on takes courage which these siblings don’t lack. We are sure that their father was the greatest kind of man, and we pray for their success.
