The #UpdateInfo Twitter page recently shared a video showcasing a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) staff member explaining to a Tesla owner that his vehicle’s home charger port hasn’t been connected to his electricity meter. Hence, he has not been charged for the electricity he’s been using to charge his Tesla ever since he purchased it.

Believing that the Tesla owner allegedly knew that the charger port was not connected to his home electricity meter, #UpdateInfo wrote, “He got caught, so he’s just acting like he didn’t know. Stole electricity and now acts like he doesn’t understand (what the TNB staff is telling him).”

In the video, the TNB staff explained to the Tesla owner that his charger wasn’t connected to his meter. Hence, the meter didn’t record any of the charger’s electricity usage, leading to losses for TNB.

He also said that this situation is against the law and that he must fix the problem immediately.

The owner then accused the Tesla technicians of installing the charger wrongly, to which the TNB staff agreed it could be the technician’s fault.

“I’m not sure about this as the technicians did the installation,” the Tesla owner said.

Ultimately, it is uncertain whose fault it is but the TNB staff has since followed protocol and helped the Tesla owner fix the issue.
